 | Rare Feat: Wright Bats .500 Thursday, July 16th, 2009: It might look like a typo in this season's stats reports. But the .500 next to the name of David Wright is no mistake. That's his batting average for the recently completed season. Wright is the newest member of baseball's .400 club. The American Division third baseman tried to downplay the achievement. "It's just a number," he said. Then he admitted with a grin: "Okay, it's a big number!" That number puts Wright in the record books with some of the game's great players. His other stats during this remarkable season include 2 hits, no doubles, no triples, no home runs, no runs and 0 RBIs. |
