Marquez Handcuffs Mavericks, Demigods Seize 1-0 Advantage in CS
|
German Marquez and the Colorado Demigods opened the Championship Series in brilliant fashion today, traveling to Maui and shutting out the host Mavericks at DK Memorial Field 3-0 to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Marquez, the Demigods right-hander, threw 8 innings of shutout ball.
The Mavericks had trouble solving Marquez, who surrendered no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings.
"German made his pitches," said Colorado manager .
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Corey Kluber for the Colorado Demigods and Clayton Kershaw for the the Maui Mavericks.
