New York Gets 9-3 Win Against Darkhorses
|
The New York Thunder Choppers beat the Los Angeles Darkhorses, 9-3, at The Landing Pad. Jean Segura, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. With the win, the Thunder Choppers hiked their record to 65-52.
The Thunder Choppers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Pete Alonso. For the game, Alonso was 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 24th home run of the season gave New York a 4-2 lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Alonso told the New York Bulletin.
