Devers Slugs Moonshiners to 13-4 Win
|
Spirited fans greeted the Texas Jackalope for their clash with the Washington Moonshiners.
The bat of Rafael Devers helped the Washington Moonshiners top the Texas Jackalope, 13-4. Devers hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for Washington. Zack Greinke was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts.
There was more than one reason the Moonshiners beat the Jackalope, but Devers's big at-bat in the top of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Devers said. "We did a good job of that today."
Washington is now riding a 3-game win streak.
