Cougars Rally to Tally 4-2 Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Indiana Cougars and Colorado Demigods.
The Cougars grabbed a win, 4-2, at Cougar Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Colorado pitcher Corey Kluber. Kluber went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Marcus Stroman, the winner, improved to 9-11. He held the Demigods to 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1.
Indiana right fielder Kris Bryant had a key at-bat for the Cougars in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Colorado pitcher Dellin Betances, Bryant hit a 2-run home run to make the score 4-2, Indiana. For the day, he went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I thought we played a nice game," Bryant told the Indiana Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Indiana now owns a record of 63-71.
