Thunder Choppers Score Late to Upend Beanballers, 4-2
|
New York starter Chris Sale had a strong outing against the Southbay Beanballers at The Landing Pad. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Ken Giles was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 30 save opportunities. The Thunder Choppers have now won 6 straight.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Franmil Reyes, hit a single. It helped New York seize the win.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Reyes told the New York Bulletin. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
