The Maui Mavericks defeated the Colorado Demigods, 2-1, in Dream Team Baseball League action at DK Memorial Field. Maui pitcher Clayton Kershaw had a standout performance. The Mavericks lead the Division 1 by 2½ games.

Mike Trout was the walk-off hero for Maui. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mavericks center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Maui manager .
