New York Gets 4-2 Road Win
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Moonshiner Ballpark.
The Washington Moonshiners got a sterling performance from pitcher Zack Greinke, but the New York Thunder Choppers still prevailed, 4-2. Greinke threw 5 innings allowing 3 runs. Ken Giles recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 30 for 33.
The result might have been different for New York, had it not been for DJ LeMahieu, the three-time All-Star . LeMahieu stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put New York up, 4-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
LeMahieu said his team "executed a good game plan."
The triumph puts New York at 86-63 for the season.
