The Maui Mavericks are one game away from a sweep of the New York Thunder Choppers today after a road win at The Landing Pad, 8-1. Mavericks right-hander Mike Soroka had a strong outing. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Maui now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 World Series.

Soroka delivered a quality start for Maui. The 6' 5" right-hander allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits over 7.1 innings of work.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Soroka.
