Almost There: Maui On Cusp of CS Triumph After 8-2 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of second baseman Ozzie Albies, the Maui Mavericks got a road win against the Colorado Demigods, 8-2, in Game 4 of the Championship Series today. Albies went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs for the Mavericks, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Juan Soto, the 21-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Soto contributed a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put Maui up, 6-2.
Soto attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Demidome in Colorado Springs. The scheduled starters for the game are Mike Soroka for the Maui Mavericks and German Marquez for the the Colorado Demigods.
