Maui Moves on to World Series
|
Juan Soto put the Maui Mavericks on his shoulders as they downed the Colorado Demigods in the Championship Series.
Maui won the deciding game by a 4-1 count at DK Memorial Field and wrapped up the series 4-2.
Soto played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .250 batting average with a .444 on-base percentage, 2 home runs, 6 RBI and 3 runs scored.
"I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said.
The Maui Mavericks will play against the New York Thunder Choppers in the next round. New York won their series against the Virginia Kings 4 games to 2. The World Series is scheduled to begin on October 1st, 2020.
