Cougars Walk It Off for 7th Win of Season
|
The Maui Mavericks got a superb performance from pitcher Jack Flaherty. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Indiana. The Cougars won the game, 5-4. Flaherty threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. The winner was Indiana reliever Daniel Hudson, now 1-0. The loser was Kenley Jansen. The win gives Indiana a record of 7-5.
With a runner on 1st in the bottom of the ninth, Brandon Nimmo delivered the knockout blow when he hit a run-scoring double to win it for Indiana. In the contest, Nimmo went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Nimmo said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
