Road Win Lifts Virginia to 1-0 Lead in CS
The Virginia Kings started the Championship Series in style today, winning on the road against the New York Thunder Choppers at The Landing Pad by a score of 8-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Kings right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs.

It could have been a different outcome for Virginia, had it not been for David Dahl, the 26-year old left fielder . Dahl contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Virginia up, 5-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Virginia skipper .

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at The Landing Pad. The scheduled starters for the game are Zack Wheeler for Virginia and Trevor Bauer for New York.
