McKay Sews Up DTBL Rookie of the Year Monday, October 19th, 2020 Brendan McKay's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Washington Moonshiners and today he walked away with the 2020 Dream Team Baseball League Rookie of the Year Award. The 24-year-old starter registered a 8-3 record this season in 8 starts. Over 138.1 innings he gave up 99 hits, struck out 169 and issued 47 walks as he held the opposition to a .195 batting average and fashioned a 2.67 ERA. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dustin May of the Maui Mavericks finished second in voting, while Andres Munoz of the Chicago Komodos finished third.
