Kansas City-Seattle Trade: Hill for Honeyman

It's being reported in the Kansas City press that the Royals have traded 30-year-old LHP Tim Hill to the Seattle Mariners for 24-year-old minor league 3B Bobby Honeyman. However, there is no confirmation by the two ball clubs.
Hill has taken the mound for 27 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-1 record with a 2.97 ERA. The Seattle reliever has limited opposing batters to a .236 batting average.

Pence Says Goodbye in Colorado

Hunter Pence said years of hard work have taken their toll on him physically, and he's decided it's now time to retire.
"I don't know any way other than full throttle, I've always been that way," he said. "Going so hard for so many years might have cost me some time on my career, but I don't regret a thing."
The Colorado Rockies left fielder is leaving the game behind at age 37.
In his career Pence has played in 1718 games, batted .279 with 243 home runs and 1795 base hits.

Diamondbacks Bumgarner Suffers Setback

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that Madison Bumgarner will miss an additional 5 days after the starting pitcher suffered a setback in his rehabilitation from thumb contusion. While the setback is believed to be minor, the Diamondbacks want Bumgarner to take his time and fully recover before coming back.
This year Bumgarner has a 8-6 mark in 19 starts with a 3.90 ERA. He has given up 114 hits in 122.1 innings, struck out 125 and issued 29 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .246 batting average against him.
