Gerber's Hit Streak Over Thursday, May 7th, 2020 The hitting streak that Albuquerque center fielder Mike Gerber had kept going for 20 games was ended today by the Fresno Grizzlies. Gerber was stymied over 1 at-bat today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 2-1 victory at Chukchansi Park. "Hitting streaks come and go," Gerber said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." This season Gerber has 5 home runs and a .324 batting average. |
