5-Hit Barrage by Hernandez Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020 Even as a kid, Yonny Hernandez said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Dell Diamond today, Hernandez showed how well he learned that lesson. The 22-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Nashville Sounds, helping his team knock off the Round Rock Express by a score of 8-5. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Yonny Hernandez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. On the year Hernandez is hitting .335 with 54 hits, no home runs, 15 RBIs, .432 OBP and has scored 29 runs. |
