Jumbo Shrimp Blank Chattanooga, Poteet Winner Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 It wasn't easy but the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp made it look that way. Starter Cody Poteet shut out the Chattanooga Lookouts despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp cruised to victory, 4-0. Poteet allowed only 1 hit and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This year Poteet has compiled a 1-0 mark with a 2.86 ERA. |
