Woodpeckers Santana Smacks 5 Hits Tuesday, May 12th, 2020 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Luis Santana of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 7-4 win over the Fredericksburg Nationals at New Fredericksburg Ballpark. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old second baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Luis Santana doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Santana is hitting .301 with no home runs and 6 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .316 clip and scored 2 runs. |
