5-Hit Barrage by Mendoza Saturday, May 30th, 2020 5 times is the charm -- at least for Drew Mendoza. The Fredericksburg Nationals first baseman tore up the Lynchburg Hillcats to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at New Fredericksburg Ballpark today. The offensive onslaught from Mendoza powered the Nationals to a 9-3 win. "Mendoza was a tough out today," Lynchburg manager Dennis Malave said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Drew Mendoza hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Teaney in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Mendoza is currently hitting at a .237 pace with 3 home runs, 16 RBIs and has scored 17 times. |
