Cardinals End Franco's Streak
Friday, May 29th, 2020
The 22-game hitting streak of Charlotte Stone Crabs shortstop Wander Franco came to an end today at Roger Dean Stadium. The Palm Beach Cardinals held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Stone Crabs down to defeat, 6-3.

Later, Franco acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.

"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."

In the current season, Franco has put up a .366 batting average with 64 hits, 6 home runs, 36 RBI and scored 34 runs.
