Carrasco Blisters Kane County Sunday, July 5th, 2020 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Deury Carrasco is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Kane County Cougars at Modern Woodmen Park today. The monster effort from the 20-year-old shortstop helped the Quad Cities River Bandits take the win, 8-5. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Cougars manager Vince Harrison. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Deury Carrasco singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th and singled in the 7th. To date this year Carrasco is batting .290 with 1 home run. |
