Cardenas and Lewis Fight, Get Suspended Friday, May 29th, 2020 After an intense confrontation, both the Hot Rods Ruben Cardenas and the Loons Jimmy Lewis were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Bowling Green-Great Lakes game. Ruben Cardenas will miss 4 games, while Jimmy Lewis was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Ruben Cardenas commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Cardenas is hitting .268 in 2020 with 22 RBIs and 2 home runs. In 8 starts this season Lewis has recorded a 5-1 record and a 2.55 ERA. |
