Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Tuesday, June 30th, 2020 If there wasn't a history between Joshua Mears of San Diego (AZL) and Zach Rafuse of Oakland (AZL), then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 2 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Mears said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Mears is hitting .184 this year with 2 home runs and 3 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .392, 10 walks and scored 9 times. |
