Orem-Rocky Mountain Brawl, Vera and Matulovich Suspended Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 If there wasn't a history between Arol Vera of Orem and Joey Matulovich of Rocky Mountain, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 9 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Vera said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." In his 2020 season totals, Vera has no home runs, .200 BA, .319 OBP, 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored. So far this season, Matulovich has compiled a 0-0 won-lost mark with no saves and a 8.68 ERA. In 9.1 innings he has fanned 10 and opponents are hitting him at a .263 clip. |
