Here is the tentative list of players who will be added to and dropped from the DTBL roster for 2010. If you have any suggested changes to these lists, don't hesitate to reply. I hope to get the official draft list posted later this week, although it may not happen until early next week. So there is plenty of time to hash this out. Here we go:

Was there a reason for dropping both John Lannan and Gil Meche from DTBL for 2010? I'm a bit surprised Derrick Holland didn't make it in, too.

There might be a couple more people I've missed, but that's who I've noticed so far.

Lannan was one of the last pitchers I decided to drop. It basically came down to his lack of fantasy value in pretty much every category except maybe ERA/WHIP. I'm certainly willing to reconsider though. As for Meche and Holland, they both had pretty terrible years last year (which should tell you something about how bad my pitching staff was since Meche spent a good portion of the season in my majors). I know Holland is a good, young prospect, but his numbers last year were less then impressive. I'm willing to give all three guys another look though.

Kevin, what do you have against the Angels???

I think Brandon Wood should be given a spot. He's slated to start at 3B and his minor league track record is quite good. Did he not have enough ABs to qualify?

I kinda think Troy Glaus should stick around as well, given his potential when healthy, though I could live without him.

Otherwise good job with the list, as always. Looking forward to the draft.

I definitely don't have anything against the Angels. In fact, I think I've got their entire starting rotation in the league.

I don't have any minimum AB/IP requirements, except that I won't add players who haven't made their MLB debut yet, so Wood is eligible. However, the problem with him is his limited success so far in the majors, as well as a logjam at 3B. A whole bunch of position changes involved guys moving to 3B, so that didn't leave me many spots to add new players. So the same issue applies to Glaus. If you think there are some 3B who don't belong, let me know, but I think most of those guys had pretty good numbers last year.

An argument could be made for Pedro Feliz and Mike Lowell being dropped or replaced. Lowell doesn't really have a job and won't be playing barring injury or trade. Feliz I don't think has as much upside as Wood or Glaus, but it's a matter of preference.

I actually agree with you that Wood and Glaus have more upside than Lowell and Feliz, however I do put a premium on the previous year's numbers and the latter duo both accumulated 75+ RBIs last season. Plus, it might be bad for Kelly's ego if I dropped Lowell this soon after she traded Mariano Rivera for him.

Haha... well there are rumors that Lowell could get dealt to the Twins, which would give him value. And I don't think Wood will be as good as Morales was last year, but there are eerie similarities.

Assuming Angel Guzman drops out due to injury, are you going to add Jon Rauch given the news on Joe Nathan?

Yes, I'm going to get Rauch into the league. I'm not exactly sure at whose expense, but Guzman is a strong possibility. I'm going to post my final updates tomorrow night.

I am making two final changes to the player list. Nick ought to be happy with both of these. First, due to Joe Nathan's potential season-ending injury, Jon Rauch's value has skyrocketed. I am putting him back in the league and removing Angel Guzman, who may never pitch again. Next, Carlos Delgado seems to be a waste of space since he is an unsigned free agent and is out until mid-season anyway. I have decided to do the same thing I did last year and replace a 1B slot with a 3B. I had originally reverted the extra slot back to 1B, but I don't see many good options left at 1B. Instead, Brandon Wood will be added as a 3B.

Jermaine Dye also remains as an unsigned free agent, but I suspect he will get a job soon. He still has a little value, so I'll keep him in the league. These two changes will be reflected on the Draft Roster shortly. I am looking to get the draft started on Friday.
