Last Tuesday night, May 18, Randy Johnson was simply perfect. He threw a perfect game against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. Besides allowing no hits or walks, the long time Kings ace also managed to mix in 13 strike outs. The 40 year old left handed pitcher became the oldest player in MLB history to throw a perfect game.

Randy Johnson has already had a Hall of Fame career, but this achievement has to be icing on the cake. It was his second career no hitter, but his first in the DTBL. It was the third perfect game in DTBL history. David Wells accomplished the feat in 1998 and then David Cone did it in 1999. Johnson is the first Kings pitcher to throw a no hitter.

Johnson highlighted a remarkable week for Kings starting pitchers. Two other Kings threw one hitters. Jason Schmidt did it on the same night as Johnson, also striking out 13 hitters. Then Tom Glavine capped off the impressive week by pitching a one hitter on Sunday. These three outings were the primary reason the Kings now find themselves just a handful of points behind the first place Mavericks.
