New York Drops Philadelphia, 6-1
|
New York Mets starter Steven Matz worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-1. New York raised its record to 36-17 with the win.
New York relied on the bat of Jake Marisnick to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. For the game, Marisnick had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Matz, "and today was a good one for us."
