Dini Suspended, Out 4 Games Saturday, May 16th, 2020 Shortly after yesterday's Storm Chasers-Cubs game ended, Nick Dini's on-field tantrum seemed almost comical. In response to being ejected for questioning a called third strike, the Omaha catcher tossed his hat to the dirt and kicked it repeatedly. He couldn't help but laugh at himself and his over-the-top, hat-kicking, anger-laced tirade. "It was funny," Dini said. "I was hoping I could kick it all the way to the dugout." The umpiring crew, however, didn't find it funny and neither did the league. Though Dini said he did not think his actions warranted a suspension, he will miss 4 games. For the year Dini is batting .212 with 2 home runs. |
