Yard Goats Halt Cumana's Hit Streak Saturday, June 6th, 2020 Reading second baseman Grenny Cumana experienced something against the Hartford Yard Goats he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Yard Goats pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 23 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Fightin Phils to a 6-4 victory at Dunkin' Donuts Park. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 23-game hitting streak," Cumana joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." This season Cumana is batting .315 with 21 RBIs, 27 runs scored and 3 home runs. |
