Williams, Moya Suspended for Fracas Monday, June 29th, 2020 After an intense confrontation, both the Fightin Phils Nick Williams and the Baysox Gabriel Moya were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Reading-Bowie game. Nick Williams will miss 5 games, while Gabriel Moya was suspended for 3 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Nick Williams commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." So far this season Williams is hitting .379 with 21 home runs. Moya's record so far this season is 3-and-1 with 23 saves and a 2.61 ERA. He has given up 29 hits in 31 innings with 32 strikeouts. |
