Raleigh Blisters Springfield Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 Cal Raleigh put on a hitting clinic today at Dickey-Stephens Park, spraying hits all over the ballpark and lashing Springfield pitchers for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. However, the offensive onslaught wasn't enough for the Arkansas Travelers, who still fell, 10-7. "Sometimes I try to pull the ball too much, so today I just went with the pitch," Raleigh told reporters after the game. "It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too." Cal Raleigh doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Johan Oviedo in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tim Peterson in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Raleigh is swinging at a .282 pace on the year with 14 home runs, 38 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has played in 65 games. |
