Big Day for Estevez: Swats 5 Hits Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 It was high-fives all around for Omar Estevez at Dickey-Stephens Park today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Arkansas Travelers. Estevez smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 9-0 win. "Omar was hitting everything," said Drillers manager Scott Hennessey. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Travelers manager Dave Berg told BNN beat writers that Estevez "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," he said. "Hopefully, Estevez oversleeps next time." Omar Estevez doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year Estevez is hitting .311 with 1 home run. |
