Injury Brings Season to End for Seelinger
Wednesday, July 8th, 2020
Matt Seelinger has to call it a season. The San Jose Giants reliever learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 07/05/2020 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as shoulder inflammation and stated that he would not be able to play for 5 months. The team will likely place Seelinger on the injured list today.

To date in the season, Seelinger is 5-0 with 24 relief appearances and no saves. He has held opposing batters to a .283 average, pitched 48 innings, struck out 49 and walked 26 while recording a 4.50 ERA.
