Reed Nets CAL #1 Pitcher Award
Wednesday, July 1st, 2020
"The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we might have to start inviting him out with us after the games."
Cody Reed put together a very solid month to take home the California League's top pitching honor in June.
The 24-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 10 relief appearances he raked in 3 saves and 13 strikeouts in 9.1 innings as he put together his 3-0 record and 0.00 ERA.
To date this year, he has registered 4 saves, 4 wins and no losses with a 0.00 ERA. Reed has made 14 relief appearances, worked a total of 13 innings and surrendered 7 hits. He has fanned 20, issued 1 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .156 batting average.
