Thompson Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 Bubba Thompson ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Grainger Stadium, when he collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Down East Wood Ducks dropped the game, 3-1, to the Carolina Mudcats. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Thompson said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Bubba Thompson hit a solo-shot off Jose Almonte in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and walked in the 7th. Presently Thompson is batting .236 with 6 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has played in 72 games and scored 49 times. |
