Braves Pitching Ravaged by Junior
Wednesday, May 6th, 2020
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Alex Junior of the Charleston RiverDogs had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 14-5 win over the Rome Braves at State Mutual Stadium.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 23-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Alex Junior singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Junior is currently hitting at a .274 pace with no home runs, 11 RBIs and has scored 18 times.
