McConnell on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Hickory Thursday, April 16th, 2020 It seemed that Lexington shortstop Brady McConnell could do no wrong as the Legends KO'd the Crawdads, 9-4 today. McConnell rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Crawdads hurlers were throwing. "I think the Legends were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Hickory fan after the game. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant McConnell in the postgame press interview. Brady McConnell grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run double in the 10th. This year McConnell has hit at a .324 pace and produced 5 RBIs, no home runs and scored 8 runs. |
