Dominant Performance by Scherzer in Virginia Win

The Virginia Kings picked up a win at Kings Park, knocking off the New York Thunder Choppers, 2-0. On the mound for Virginia was right-hander Max Scherzer, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, Virginia pushed its record to 66-60.
Scherzer, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, was dealing all game. He kept New York hitters off-balance, while giving the Kings 8 quality innings. Scherzer threw 104 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 8.
