The New York Yankees racked up a win at Yankee Stadium, bumping off the Seattle Mariners, 5-1. Gerrit Cole, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Cole, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. With the win, New York upped its record to 28-24.

Making an impact for the home team was Aaron Judge. In the bottom of the first, the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award winner had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 1-0, Yankees.
