Tampa Bay and Detroit got after it at Comerica Park.

Pitcher Charlie Morton was sensational for the Tampa Bay Rays in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Detroit Tigers. Morton picked up the win, and it was well-earned. The victory gives Tampa Bay a record of 29-25.

Nate Lowe, the 24-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lowe contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put Tampa Bay up, 1-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Lowe told the Tampa Bay Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
