Big Day for Haniger in 6-4 Mariners Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers.
Seattle right fielder Mitch Haniger played a vital role in his team's 6-4 triumph over Detroit. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Seattle. Seattle pitcher Erik Swanson got the win. He's now 1-1. Ivan Nova was tagged with the loss. Taylor Guilbeau collected his 11th save.
Haniger had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 sinker from Ivan Nova, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Mariners a 4-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Haniger.
"The vibe's good," said Seattle manager Scott Servais. "We've got to keep it going."
The Mariners, at 28-30, have now won 4 straight.
