Rangers Pitching Ravaged by Kieboom
|
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Carter Kieboom today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Globe Life Field and paced the Nationals to a 31-3 win over the Texas Rangers.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Washington third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Carter Kieboom singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Joe Palumbo in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in a run in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
Thus far this year Kieboom is batting .271 with 10 home runs, 36 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
