The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Progressive Field, knocking off the Cleveland Indians, 4-3. Starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen was a big reason why. Chen, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. At 30-31, Boston is in 4th place in the American League East Division.

Kevin Pillar, the 31-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pillar contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the eighth inning to put Boston up, 4-1.
