In a close game at Citi Field, the Houston Astros edged the New York Mets, 5-4. Houston catcher Martin Maldonado stood apart with his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Houston has an impressive 41-20 record.

Maldonado had a timely hit for Houston in the top of the seventh. With New York trailing 4-2, he turned a 2-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Houston.
