Mets Win, 3-2, at Washington
|
New York and Washington duked it out and the Mets came out victorious.
The New York Mets did just enough to secure a victory over the Washington Nationals, 3-2, at Nationals Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Marcus Stroman. New York, at 42-19, is 2 games up in the National League East Division.
New York relied on the hitting of Jeff McNeil to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mets on top, 3-1. For the game, McNeil had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said McNeil.
