Astros Win, 4-1, Versus Orioles
|
Starting pitcher Josh James was a major factor in the 4-1 Houston Astros triumph over the Baltimore Orioles. James, now 7-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The win elevated the Astros to 43-22.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Alex Bregman, the slugging third baseman . Bregman contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Houston up, 1-0.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Astros manager Dusty Baker, "I like our chances."
