The New York Mets picked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-2. Starting pitcher Rick Porcello was a big reason why. With the victory, the Mets upped their record to 44-21.

Michael Conforto went 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for New York. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kodi Whitley. It was his 46th RBI of the season.

"We take it day by day here," said Porcello, "and today was a good one for us."
