Rangers Handed 6-3 Loss by Houston
|
The first-place Houston Astros picked up another win.
Houston picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, toppling the Texas Rangers, 6-3. Pitcher Framber Valdez was one of the reasons the Astros triumphed. Ryan Pressly converted his 15th save in 16 tries.
The Astros got a big at-bat from shortstop Carlos Correa. For the game, Correa was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Houston a 2-1 lead.
"Framber was throwing strikes, locating well," said Houston manager Dusty Baker.
With the win, the Astros have a record of 44-22.
