Marlins Drop Giants, 5-3
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants.
Miami Marlins starter Pablo Lopez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Francisco Giants, 5-3. Drew Steckenrider, now 2-3, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0.
Jonathan Villar, the 29-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Villar contributed a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put Miami up, 5-3.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said San Francisco manager Gabe Kapler.
Miami, at 32-37, occupies last place in the National League East Division.
